Cleveland Junior Honors Band Auditions

The Cleveland Junior Honors Band (CJHB) is an ensemble for outstanding young percussionists and woodwind and brass players entering grades 6 through 9. Participants will perform challenging and exciting repertoire, develop advanced skills on their instruments, meet and interact with world-class musicians, and develop leadership skills.

In an effort to maximize the experience of students and increase the success of the ensemble, all interested students and their parents are asked to schedule a meeting with our staff. We will be hosting an open house on Saturday, Sept. 18 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m at Tri-C's Western Campus in Parma. 

At the open house, students will be asked to play a piece of music they are comfortable with (perhaps a piece they worked on at school, for solo and ensemble, or their private lessons), two major scales (E, A, D, G, C, F, B flat, E flat, or A flat) and a chromatic scale for one of our faculty members.

After playing, students and parents will learn more about the group and receive information about rehearsals and performances and how to enroll.
