Black Diamonds Women's Conference
Update: The Black Diamonds Women's Conference and COVID-19
In light of uncertainties presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Black Diamonds Women's Initiative Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Black Diamonds conference. Tentative dates for the 2021 conference are Oct. 15 and 16.
We deeply regret this cancellation, as we were looking forward to hearing from keynote speaker DeShauna Barber and providing extended Saturday programming. The good news is that we have confirmed Ms. Barber for 2021, and we are beginning to plan virtual sessions and webinars for our Black Diamonds participants. The schedule will be available soon.
Please stay safe, and — as we Black Diamonds say — keep climbing, keep shining!
Welcome to the Black Diamonds Women's Conference
The Black Diamonds Women’s Conference provides African American women and girls with access to resources and information regarding educational success, emotional well-being and financial stability.
A core focus of the Black Diamonds initiative is to expand readiness, access and participation among women of color in careers that offer sustainable pay, security, personal satisfaction and upward economic mobility.
Black Diamonds is a collaborative effort between educational institutions, community organizations, corporate partners and individuals to promote continuous development among African American women and girls in Northeast Ohio.
This two-day conference is the kickoff to a yearlong series of workshops focused on mental and physical well-being, occupational and educational access, and financial literacy.
