Psi Beta is the Community College National Honor Society in Psychology, founded for the purpose of stimulating, encouraging, and recognizing students’ outstanding scholarship and interest in psychology.

Psi Beta’s mission is to encourage professional development and psychological literacy of all students at two-year colleges through promotion and recognition of excellence in scholarship, leadership, research, and community service. Tri-C’s chapter of Psi Beta was founded in Spring 2023.

Membership criteria:

  • Currently enrolled as a Tri-C student (either full- or part-time)
  • Cumulative Tri-C GPA of 3.25 or higher
  • Earned at least 12 semester hours of college credit
  • Completed PSY 1010: General Psychology at Tri-C (or the equivalent at another institution, demonstrated by official transcript evaluation)
  • Earned a “B” or higher in another college-level psychology course
  • Received a written invitation to membership from the official Tri-C chapter (If you believe you are eligible, but have not received an invitation, please contact an advisor listed below.)
