Faculty Use The Learning Commons To:

  • Place materials on reserve to help students with classwork
  • Work with librarians who can help your students learn information literacy skills
  • Schedule laptop deliveries for your students to use in your classes
  • Schedule equipment delivery to your classrooms

Online Forms:

  • Schedule an Information Literacy Session with a Librarian
  • Advertise on our Hi-Viz System
  • Request Laptops for a Class
  • Request Equipment Delivery for a Class


Place Items on Reserve

  • Teachers can place items they choose on reserve for their students to use during the semester
  • Items can include books, DVDs, CDs, journals, magazines, etc.
  • All reserve materials will be returned to instructors or departments at the end of the academic semester
  • Instructors must fill out a Course Reserve Form and return it to the library with course materials

We Deliver To You

The Learning Commons brings classroom equipment directly to you, at the designated time and place. Faculty have access to:

  • Multimedia Carts (Computer, Monitor, Document Camera, Projector, DVD/VCR)
  • TV/DVD Combo
  • Smart Board
  • Visually Impaired Devices
  • Overhead Projectors
  • CD/Tape Player

Fill out the Equipment Request Form (please submit at least one week before the equipment is needed).

Our Librarians Come To You

The Learning Commons offers classroom instruction on digital and information literacy.

Workshops Offered:

  • Cite with Style: Applying MLA Citation Format - Learn MLA citation format and explore tools that make citing sources easier
  • Googlize Me - Learn the limits and strength of Google. Create a Google account, use Google Docs, and when to use Google.
  • Got Books? Using the Library Catalog - Students learn to navigate and search for books in the Tri-C Library Catalog and Ohio Link.
  • Open All Night! Using Library Databases - Learn to search for and download full-text articles any time of the day.
