Scott Balogh
Awarded: 2025
Born: Shaker Heights, OH
"Scott’s deep love of jazz, his constant support and advocacy helps to sustain the great legacy of our music community."
- Dominick Farinacci
Music took hold of Scott Balogh in early childhood. Seeing The Basie Band with Ella Fitzgerald at Playhouse Square became a transformational moment that guided the course of his life.
A saxophone player since his elementary school years, Scott continued his musical journey at Capital University. He played for and studied with Vaughn Wiester, Barney Rooker and Bob Breithaupt, in big band, fusion band and a variety of jazz ensembles.
It was during one such performance at the university’s campus center that Scott met fellow musician Stacy Banks, whom he married – united through their love of jazz.
Scott is the current board chair of the Tri-C JazzFest and the Executive Producer/Board Chair of Modern Warrior Live, a veteran-based musical/storytelling program originated and performed by Jaymes Poling and Dominick Farinacci.
Scott is also the President and Chief Operating Officer of Mar-Bal, Inc., one of the country’s top thermoset injection molding manufacturers.
