Guardians for the Future

Tri-C Foundation: Guardians for the Future

Create Opportunities That Last for Generations

Guardians for the Future is the Tri-C Foundation’s new legacy society honoring individuals who choose to safeguard access to education and opportunity by including Tri-C in their long-term or estate plans.

Guardians plan today to ensure that future generations of Tri-C students — often the first in their families to attend college — can pursue education, build meaningful careers, and strengthen Northeast Ohio’s workforce.

When you become a Guardian for the Future, you join a community of supporters who believe education is one of the most powerful and lasting investments in people and communities.

Why Become a Guardian?

Guardians are defined not by the size of their gift but by the strength of their commitment. A legacy gift is one of the most inclusive and meaningful ways to make a difference.

You can commit to using assets you may never spend, allowing you to support Tri-C without affecting your current lifestyle.

Legacy gifts:

  • Are accessible to donors at all giving levels
  • Are simple to establish and flexible over time
  • May provide tax advantages
  • Reflect your values and have an impact beyond your lifetime

Most importantly, your legacy gift will ensure that Tri-C remains a gateway to education, economic mobility and opportunities for generations to come.

Guardians for the Future help Tri-C respond to real challenges students face and invest in programs that drive long-term success, including:

  • Scholarships and financial support that make education affordable and attainable
  • Wraparound student support such as emergency assistance, transportation, child care and basic needs
  • Workforce and career pathways aligned with Northeast Ohio’s growing industries
  • Innovative academic and training programs that prepare students for in-demand careers
  • Areas of greatest need, allowing Tri-C to respond quickly as student and workforce needs evolve

These investments change lives. They strengthen families, employers and the entire region. Your legacy will ensure that opportunity is preserved, protected and passed forward.

You may become a Guardian by including the Tri-C Foundation in your long-term plans through:

  • A bequest in your will or living trust
  • Beneficiary designations on retirement accounts (IRA, 401(k), 403(b)) or life insurance
  • A charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust
  • Other deferred or planned giving arrangements

Membership is based on intent — there is no minimum gift amount, and gift values do not need to be disclosed.

As a Guardian, you will enjoy:

  • Lifetime membership in the Guardians for the Future Legacy Society
  • Recognition in Foundation publications (unless you prefer anonymity)
  • Invitations to exclusive gatherings, briefings and campus experiences
  • Updates showing how your legacy supports student success and workforce impact
  • Opportunities to share your Tri-C story and inspire others

Your Legacy. Our Future.

Are you ready to be a Guardian for Tri-C and create a lasting impact?
