Commencement
What is commencement?
Commencement is often referred to as "graduation," but there is a difference. Commencement celebrates students expected to complete their degrees or certificates by the end of the academic year. Students who complete graduation requirements in the summer semester will be invited to attend the fall ceremony.
What is graduation?
Graduation happens when a student has officially completed all degree or certificate requirements. Confirmation of degree or certificate completion will take place once all official grades are posted – usually one to two months after Commencement. When the requirements are met, a student is then considered a graduate!
