Each degree at Tri-C requires that students complete a set number of credits in each of the College's General Education Categories (Communication, Mathematics, Natural and Physical Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and Social and Behavioral Sciences). Courses selected to fulfill a General Education requirement must also be approved as part of the Ohio Transfer 36. Click the below links to view lists of Ohio Transfer 36 approved courses to select from for the General Education Requirements for the Associate of Arts degree and the Associate of Science degree:

Curriculum and Assessment Operations Manual

We are pleased to announce the development of the Curriculum and Assessment Operations Manual. This manual serves as a comprehensive handbook outlining all procedures related to the Curriculum and Assessment areas. Annual reviews of the manual will be conducted to ensure currency of procedures and inclusion of any new state or institutional initiatives.

Accessing Official Course Outlines

Students, faculty, and staff can view the Official Course Outlines for all currently active course outlines through our Course Outlines library on the public website. For a copy of an archived outline to obtain transfer credit, please contact the Curriculum Office at 216-987-4794 or 216-987-4892.

Faculty and staff can also access current outlines for creating syllabi on the curriculum KWeb site in the Official Course Outlines - Active Library or from the Course Inventory Management System (CIM). Instructions can be accessed by clicking the buttons on the right-hand menu.

Curriculum, Assessment, and Transfer Training

The Curriculum, Assessment, and Transfer Offices will be offering joint training sessions to support faculty in submitting curriculum proposals, Ohio Transfer Module proposals, Transfer Assurance Guide proposals, Career Transfer Assurance Guides, and assessment processes. Faculty and staff can register for these training sessions in TEC. In addition, help videos and documents are available from both this site and our curriculum KWeb site.

The Curriculum Deadlines for Fall 2025 implementation are as follows:

High Impact Changes
Due Monday, Sept. 15, 2025*
Moderate Impact Changes
Due Friday, Dec. 5, 2025
New program Course description
New course Essential learning outcome mapping
Prerequisite change Outcomes
Credit hours change Objectives
Course title change Course content
Subject code change Methods of evaluation
Course number change Resources
Sequence change/program revision
Course deletion

*When submitting high impact changes, any revisions needed to moderate impact areas (outcomes, objectives, etc.) need to also be included in the high impact proposal.

Curriculum Proposals received after these dates will be reviewed for Fall 2026 implementation. The September deadline ensures sufficient time to approve and implement all high impact changes across multiple systems (degree audit, student information system, etc.) prior to the start of Fall 2026 Registration, which will open in March 2026. This supports compliance with Financial Aid Program of Study Rules, which is a federal requirement where students will only be able to apply federal aid to courses within their declared major/degree plan.

Cuyahoga Community College is committed to delivering high quality curriculum that prepares students to enter the workforce in their chosen career. The office of curriculum development provides leadership and support to the faculty in both developing new curriculum and continually improving our existing courses and programs to support students in the achievement of their educational and career goals.
