Accreditation and Regulatory Bodies

Cuyahoga Community College is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Upon request, the College makes available for review documents describing the institution’s accreditation and state licensure to all current and prospective students. Please contact the Office of Access, Learning, and Success at 216-987-3483 for further information.

Information about filing student complaints can be found at the Higher Learning Commission’s website and at the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s website. Be advised that these institutions may require the student to exercise any appeal procedures at the College prior to accepting a complaint. Please visit the appropriate institutional website for the most current guidance on filing a complaint.

The College has chosen to participate in the Open Pathway to maintain accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission. In addition, a number of the College’s career programs are approved or accredited by appropriate specialized associations or agencies.

Cuyahoga Community College participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) and is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

The College offers courses, associate degree and certificate programs that may lead to professional licensure and/or certification. Successful completion of such programs may potentially lead to professional licensure, registration or certification. Licensure, registration or certification may be global, national, or state-specific. Programs leading to professional licensure and/or certification meet requirements for the State of Ohio. Requirements for other states may vary.

For those currently living in a state other than Ohio or intend to move to a state other than Ohio and use the education completed at Cuyahoga Community College to sit for such an exam, be aware there may be additional requirements. Please contact the appropriate program of study to discuss further intentions.
