The Interior Design program is expanding to Tri-C's Westshore Campus, combining creativity, technology and real-world experience to prepare you for a career designing the spaces where people live, work, learn and connect. Through hands-on studio courses, industry-standard tools and guidance from experienced professionals, you'll learn how to transform ideas into inspiring, functional environments.
Whether your goal is residential design, commercial interiors, kitchen and bath design, space planning or another creative field, Tri-C provides the foundation to help you succeed.
Two classes will be launched in Fall 2026, with more classes coming in Spring 2027.
Fall Classes (Blended/Hybrid - part online and part on campus):
Introduction to Interior Design | INTD 1111 | 3 Credit Hours Discover the fundamentals of residential and commercial interior design while developing the foundational skills used throughout the program.
Hand Drafting and Sketching for Interiors | INTD 1101 | 3 Credit Hours Learn professional drafting, field sketching and construction documentation techniques that interior designers use to bring concepts to life.

Introduction to interior design studies with emphasis on identifying and developing basic skills and competencies required for residential and commercial design. Principles and practices utilized in subsequent interior design coursework. Prerequisite(s): ENG-1010 College Composition I, or concurrent enrollment.

Introduction to hand drafting and field sketching for interior design. Emphasizes identification of basic construction and field terminology, use of field equipment, and the application and interpretation of construction documents. Provides a foundation in using hand-drafting tools and translating field sketches into working drawings. Prerequisite(s): INTD-1111 Introduction to Interior Design, or concurrent enrollment.
