- Students will cover WLAN basics such as RF, antenna theory, and 802.11a, b, and g standards. It also tests the candidate's ability to describe, install, configure, and support Cisco's Core and Advanced Feature Set wireless products and more, at an advanced level. Upon successful completion of Cisco Advanced Wireless LAN Field Specialist, the student should be able to: Explain difference among various WLAN standards Demonstrate various WLAN topologies. Identify and define Cisco WLAN product offerings. Install and configure client adapter, access point, bridge and workgroup bridge. Demonstrate the importance of WLAN security as well as how to configure 802.11, 802.1X and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA). Explain the Structured Wireless Aware Network (SWAN) Architecture as well as individual access point management tools. Apply security so that the network is safe from attack. Configure, implement and troubleshoot the advanced capabilities of the CCX and Cisco wireless clients. Configure, implement and troubleshoot the advanced capabilities of Cisco wireless controller appliance.
