Remote Placement Testing
Tri-C students who live in excess of 45 miles from a campus may complete their English and math placement tests at an approved remote testing location in their local area. Approved remote testing locations are typically a college or university testing center. Most college or university testing centers charge a testing fee for students who do not attend their institution. Any costs associated with remote testing are the responsibility of the student and this should be discussed with the remote testing location prior to scheduling an appointment.
The ESL, Biology, and Chemistry placement tests may not be completed remotely.
How Do I Schedule a Remote Placement Test?
Contact your preferred Tri-C campus Testing Center to discuss arranging a remote placement test. A Testing Center representative will work with you to identify an approved testing location in your local area where you can complete your placement tests.
To assist you in locating a nearby college or university testing center, visit the NCTA website.
Once a testing location has been approved, you must contact the testing location to make arrangements for testing. An appointment may be required. Test prep must be completed prior to your testing visit.
What Happens After I Take My Tests?
Your placement test scores will appear in your student record the following day. Your next steps after completing placement tests depend on your admission status. You may contact your preferred campus Testing Center to review your placement results.
