The Associate Degree in Lodging and Tourism Management the Hospitality Management Center of Excellence at Tri-C is designed to prepare graduates to initiate careers in the hotel lodging, travel, and tourism industries. This two year program provides a high quality curriculum and comprehensive course of study, in-depth classroom discussions related to real-world experiences, as well as participation in hands-on supervised industry experiences at lodging and tourism establishments. Coursework includes an emphasis on convention management, meeting planning, hospitality marketing, front office operations and housekeeping management.
The Lodging and Tourism Management Associate Degree program has three major components:
- Lodging Concentration: develop a core understanding of the fundamentals of convention and meeting management, front office, facilities maintenance, and housekeeping operations.
- Lodging Management and Supervision: emphasizing customer service focused communication, human resources training and supervision, in the industry and an overview of the fundamentals of hospitality food and beverage.
- Academic Development: prepares the student for critical thinking, decision making, information technology and microcomputer applications, teamwork, and cultural awareness.
