Creative Arts Scholarships
The Creative Arts Division has several scholarship opportunities available to students. Students with GPAs of 2.5 or above are encourage to apply for scholarships through the Financial Aid Department's Online Application.
|Art||David Wilder Scholarship||The David Wilder Scholarship was created by his friends and family in memory of David Wilder, who taught art and art history at Tri-C for over a decade. Wilder was passionate about art and education, and this memorial scholarship will be awarded in his honor to students sharing his passion for art as they pursue their degree. Award based on merit and does not require demonstration of financial need. Criteria: 2.5 GPA or higher; student must be pursuing an Associate of Art with a Studio Art concentration at the Western campus. Cilck here to apply.|
|Creative Arts||Creative Arts Scholarship Fund||The Creative Arts Scholarship Fund was established to support students in Creative Arts programs. Scholarships are available to students enrolled in: (1) music programs; (2) visual communication and design programs (graphic design, advertising design, media arts, interactive media, illustration, digital video); (3) theatre performance (art, dance, and music) and technical theatre programs; and (4) recording arts and technology programs. |Creative Arts||PNC/Live Nation Tri-C High School Rock Off Scholarship||
For the 2019-2020 academic year, three scholarships of up to $2,000 each will be awarded with a preference to graduating high school seniors who participated in the 2019 Tri-C High School Rock Off. Preference to a high school senior graduating in 2019. To be eligible, students must enroll at Tri-C no later than August 15, 2019. If no applicable candidate is identified, the scholarship opportunity will be opened to prior Rock Off participants and current students pursuing their Associates degree with an emphasis in Music. |Creative Arts||Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Scholarship||
In honor of the 2018 Rock Hall Induction Ceremony, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has created a scholarship fund to support students enrolled in Creative Arts classes. Criteria: 2.5 GPA; enrolled in Creative Arts courses; full-time student demonstrating financial need; preference given to Cuyahoga County residents. Click here to apply.

The Gerald H. Gordon Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Gerald H. Gordon, a Cuyahoga Community College alumnus and instructor and the former President and General Manager of Sun Newspapers. Criteria: 2.5 GPA; enrolled in Media and Journalism Studies credit programs. Click here to apply.

The Rena J. Blumberg Olshansky Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to recognize Ms. Rena J. Blumberg Olshansky for her numerous contributions to Cuyahoga Community College, the Tri-C Foundation and the Greater Cleveland community. Ms. Olshansky is an award-winning broadcaster, author, lecturer and civic activist. She serves as Director Emeritus of the Tri-C Foundation. |Media and Journalism Studies||Richard A. Johnson Scholarship Fund||The Richard A. Johnson Scholarship Fund was established to recognize Mr. Richard A. Johnson for his numerous contributions to Cuyahoga Community College, the Tri-C Foundation and the Greater Cleveland community. Mr. Johnson was the Publisher and Chairman of Kaleidoscope Magazine, which focused on celebrating African-American achievement in the Greater Cleveland area, and has a strong appreciation for quality journalism and excellence in news coverage. |Media and Journalism Studies||WEWS/Scripps Howard Endowed Scholarship Fund||The WEWS/Scripps Howard Endowed Scholarship Fund was established through generous support from the Scripps Howard Foundation to provide financial support for tuition and related educational expenses for students enrolled in Cuyahoga Community College’s Media and Journalism Studies and Communications courses. Criteria: enrolled in Media and Journalism Studies and/or Communications courses - including Media Arts and Filmmaking and Visual Communications & Design; demonstrated financial need. Gorman, former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TRW Inc., and the significant contributions of Mr. Gorman and TRW to the Tri‐C JazzFest and Jazz Studies program. |Theatre Arts||Jimmy Green Memorial Scholarship||The Jimmy Green Memorial Scholarship was created by his friends and family in memory of Jimmy Green, who taught Theatre Arts as an adjunct faculty member at Cuyahoga Community College. Green was an accomplished theatre artist and was one of the founding members of Something Dada and Cabaret Dada. He was a beloved and respected member of the Northeast Ohio theatre community. |Visual Communication and Design||Visual Communications Managers Association Scholarship Fund||The Visual Communications Managers Association Scholarship Fund was established by the Visual Communications Managers Association to support students enrolled in Cuyahoga Community College's graphic communications courses.
