Bricklaying Program
Area of Study: Applied Industrial Technology (Bricklaying) Apprenticeship Program
Degree/Certificate: Associate of Applied Science degree in Applied Industrial Technology with a concentration in Bricklaying
Students must currently be working in a registered apprenticeship program in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.
The apprenticeship program prepares the student to earn a journey-level status in Bricklaying, as well as an Associate of Applied Science degree in Applied Industrial Technology. A 4-year apprenticeship emphasizes the skill set required to be a highly skilled craftsman.
Bricklaying is the art and craft of building and fabricating in stone and brick. Bricklayers work in a variety of construction settings building chimneys, partitions and walls, working with stone, cinder and gypsum block, and brick. The work requires physical stamina, a solid mathematical sense, and an artistic eye.
