What is the OLSA?
As a student at Tri-C®, you have the opportunity to complete the Online Learning Student Assessment (OLSA). The purpose of the OLSA is to prepare you to succeed in the classroom and in Tri-C's online learning environment. The OLSA helps you determine how well you use study skills, navigate technology, and practice academic communication skills.
The OLSA is available through Blackboard Learn to students once accepted to the College. The OLSA should take 45 minutes to an hour and includes three graded sections: Technology, Study Skills, and Communication Skills. If you do not successfully complete the Technology module on your first attempt, you will also need to complete the Technology Review section. The OLSA will also introduce you to several Tri-C resources to support your success as a Tri-C student. (Do not use the Blackboard Mobile App to take the OLSA!)
Whether your courses are face-to-face, blended, or online, the skills covered in the OLSA are key to your success!
How do I take the OLSA?
If you are a student, faculty member, or Tri-C employee who would like to take the OLSA, or a faculty member who would like to require the OLSA as part of your online, blended, or on-campus course you can contact OLAT by clicking the "Enroll & Take the OLSA" button on this page and filling out the form.
Transition to My Online Readiness Experience
This August the OLSA will be updated and re-branded as My Online Readiness Experience. Don't worry, if you have completed the OLSA you will not have to complete My Online Readiness Experience! The process for requesting to take or add My Online Readiness Experience to your course will be the same as for the OLSA. If you have any questions regarding the change you can e-mail Kari Vara at email@example.com.
