Tri-C Softball Players Earn All-Conference Honors
Four student-athletes on team recognized by OCCAC
Four Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) softball players earned all-conference honors from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference for their performance during the 2015 season.
The following Tri-C student-athletes were recognized:
- Right-handed pitcher Meredith Chopka, who posted a 10-8 record with 136 strikeouts and a conference-leading 2.23 ERA. The first-year player from Cuyahoga Heights threw 15 complete games in her 20 starts.
- Ciara Gorman, who batted .300 with a home run, 18 RBI and 14 runs scored while playing third base. The first-year player from Independence also pitched in 14 games and posted a 2-1 record.
- Catcher Mary Gorski, who batted .289 with 17 runs scored. The second-year player from Olmsted Falls also added 11 RBI.
- Abigail Knechtel, who batted .364 with a home run and 25 RBI while playing first base. The second-year player from Medina also scored 20 runs.
The Challengers ended the season with a record of 21-17 and tied for second in the OCCAC.
