Tri-C Soccer Players Receive Conference Awards
Jacob Marianut and John Paul Duff named Players of the Week


Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) soccer players Jacob Marianut and John Paul Duff earned offensive and defensive Player of the Week honors from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference for their performances Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
The duo led the Challengers to a 3-1 victory over nationally ranked Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. Marianut scored two goals and assisted on another in the upset, while Duff recorded 13 saves in goal.
Marianut, a forward, now has a team-leading five goals on the year. The first-year player from Brunswick is studying business at Tri-C.
Duff leads all conference goalkeepers and ranks fifth nationally with 83 saves in nine games. The second-year player from Steubenville is studying massotherapy at Tri-C. This is his second consecutive Player of the Week award from the OCCAC.
The Challengers improved to 4-6 on the season and 2-2 in conference play with the win. Five of the team’s next six games will be played at home at Tri-C’s Western Campus, 11000 Pleasant Valley Road in Parma.
