Tri-C Encore 55+ Adult Education Program Offers Learning Opportunities

New session of classes begins Sept. 22 for adults aged 55 and older

Tri-C Encore 55+ Adult Education Program Offers Learning OpportunitiesThe Encore Campus Fridays program at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) begins a new session of classes Sept. 22 to enrich the minds and lives of those aged 55 and older.

The fall program runs every Friday for seven weeks at Eastern Campus in Highland Hills and Western Campus in Parma. Age-eligible students can enroll in one to six classes for one low fee of $99. The 50-minute classes take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Encore also debuts this fall at Tri-C’s Brunswick University Center, where age-eligible students can enroll in one to three classes for $60. Classes run between 9 a.m. and noon.

The overall course catalog features more than 100 options on a wide variety of subjects, including art, cinema, computers, history, music, religion, science, yoga and more. Classes are taught by Tri-C faculty, retired educators and subject experts.

“Encore Campus Fridays is a great way to socialize while learning about topics you have always been interested in,” said Suzanne Ortiz, who oversees the program. “The opportunities are endless.”

Want to take classes but can’t make it to Encore Campus Fridays? Then check out Tri-C’s Neighborhood Scholars 55+ adult education courses, which take place at museums, parks and other locations around Greater Cleveland.

Neighborhood Scholars includes the Chamber Music Ensemble performance group; Cleveland Foods and Tours to experience restaurants and landmarks; and “Coffee with a Curator” sessions, which provide behind-the-scenes looks at exhibits and collections at University Circle institutions.

These alternate-site classes occur throughout the week and vary in length. Costs range from $15 to $65 per class.
