Tri-C Eastern Campus Hosts Cleveland Browns Blood Drive
Event on Aug. 1 will benefit American Red Cross
HIGHLAND HILLS — The Eastern Campus of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) will host the annual Cleveland Browns Blood Drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, to benefit the American Red Cross.
The blood drive will feature visits from Browns legends Hanford Dixon (9-11 a.m.) and Kevin Mack (11 a.m.-1 p.m.), who will be available for autographs and photos. Team mascot Chomps also will stop in to woof with fans between 9 and 11 a.m.
Blood donors will receive a commemorative Browns T-shirt (while supplies last) and be eligible for great prizes, including a signed football and two tickets to a preseason Browns game.
Donors can stop by anytime during the drive in the Student Services Building, located at 4250 Richmond Road in Highland Hills. Appointments are recommended and can be made by calling the American Red Cross at 800-733-2767 or visiting www.redcrossblood.org.
The Tri-C campus is one of 12 Northeast Ohio sites hosting the team’s annual blood drive.
August is a crucial time to donate blood given typical shortfalls in supplies during the summer months. Every pint of blood donated can help improve three lives.
“We encourage the community to join us in giving blood to help others,” Eastern Campus President J. Michael Thomson said.
The Cleveland Browns Blood Drive is part of the team’s First and Ten movement, which inspires fans across the globe to commit to at least 10 hours of community service during the year.
