Devon Robinson named Freshman of the Year; Michael Duncan is Coach of the Year
The OCCAC also honored Tri-C’s Michael Duncan as Coach of the Year after he guided the Challengers (28-3) to a conference co-championship and into the Top 10 of the national rankings during his third season with the team.
Robinson, a guard/forward, ranked second in the conference in rebounding with 10.2 per game. He also averaged 11.6 points and 2.3 assists per game while being named First Team All-OCCAC.
The graduate of Cleveland’s John Adams High School is studying to be a physical therapy assistant.
Two teammates joined Robinson in earning all-conference honors:
- Forward Quintin Dove, who averaged a team-leading 13.1 points per game while being named Second Team All-OCCAC. The freshman from Euclid is pursuing an Associate of Arts at Tri-C.
- Center Wade Lowman, who averaged 11.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game to earn Honorable Mention All-OCCAC honors. The freshman from Philadelphia is studying accounting at the College.
The conference basketball title won by the Challengers is their first since the 2010-2011 season. The team’s season ended with a loss in the finals of the NJCAA Regional XII basketball tournament.
