Home School Visitation Day at Tri-C Westshore Campus
The Westshore Campus of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) will host a visitation day for home-schooled children and their families from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 19.
The open house will offer information on how to attend Tri-C through the state’s College Credit Plus program, which allows teens to earn college credit at no cost during their high school years.

A Record Number of Graduates at Tri-C Fall Commencement
A record number of students petitioned to graduate from Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) at the 2017 Fall Commencement, continuing an upward trend of academic achievement.
The College has been asked to confer 1,929 associate degrees and certificates of completion at the upcoming graduation ceremony, which will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, in Cleveland.

The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) reached a milestone this month with its 500th graduate since beginning in 2012.
A celebration honoring the latest class took place Friday, Dec. 8. The 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) alumni list now stands at 520 entrepreneurs representing a variety of industries and businesses across the region.

Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) soccer player Rushoy Brown has been named a 2017 NJCAA Division I All-American, adding to his list of honors following a stellar season.

Record Enrollment at Tri-C Westshore Campus
The Westshore Campus of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) posted record enrollment numbers this fall, leading the College to an overall increase in the student population.
Enrollment at the Westlake campus climbed to nearly 2,200 at the start of this academic year, the seventh since Tri-C opened the academic center in 2011. This year’s headcount is an 11 percent jump from last fall.

The Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Board of Trustees voted today to place a 0.5-mill bond issue on the Nov. 7 ballot for the repair, improvement and construction of facilities vital for college completion and workforce education.
The bond issue levy would raise funding for the College to address decades of wear and tear on buildings; keep pace with rapidly changing technology; and create new instructional space for growing programs.

Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) baseball player Matt Starcovic has been named a 2017 NJCAA Division II All-American, adding to his list of honors following a stellar season.

Michael Culp Named Board Student Scholar at Tri-C
The summer of 2012 brought little warmth for Michael Culp. His father died that June following a grueling battle with lung cancer that Culp witnessed from a bedside seat. Weeks after the funeral, Culp lost the job he held for more than a decade.

CLEVELAND — The Ohio Association of Community Colleges recently honored Morton L. Mandel with its Terry M. Thomas Friend of Community Colleges Award in recognition of his support of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) and its students.

Tri-C Police Chief Appointed to State Commission
CLEVELAND — Police Chief Clayton Harris of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) has been appointed to the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission for a term ending Sept. 20.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich announced the appointment last week. Harris is filling the remainder of a three-year term previously held by Chief Paul Denton of The Ohio State University Police Department.

HIGHLAND HILLS — The Eastern Campus of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) will host its 43rd annual Juried Student Art Exhibit in April to showcase outstanding works of art created by students.

The Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Board of Trustees voted today to place a 1.2-mill renewal levy with a 0.9-mill increase on the Nov. 4 ballot.
