Tri-C’s William Gary to Head Ohio Workforce League

Panel includes representatives from all of the state’s community colleges

William GaryA new statewide workforce team created to strengthen Ohio’s career-readiness training will be led by William Gary, executive vice president of the Workforce Community and Economic Development division at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®).

The Ohio Workforce League includes workforce development leaders from all 23 of the state’s community colleges. The group will work to develop innovative solutions to help more adults learn new skills to compete in today’s technology-driven economy.

The group was created in response to the increased focus on workforce training by Gov. Mike DeWine and his administration. The panel was organized by the Ohio Association of Community Colleges.

“Our community colleges continue to answer the call to get more Ohioans job-ready and on the path to careers,” said Jack Hershey, the association’s president and CEO. “We know that workforce development is the most critical element for our state’s economic well-being in this new knowledge economy.”

The panel recently held its first meeting in Columbus.
