Tri-C’s Michael Schoop Named to East Cleveland Schools Commission
Metro Campus president selected for post by Ohio superintendent
Metropolitan Campus President Michael Schoop has helped lead students at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) to greater academic success fo more than a decade.
Now he has been asked to apply that experience to East Cleveland city schools.
Ohio Superintendent of Public Instruction Paolo DeMaria named Schoop to serve on an academic distress commission empaneled to improve the school district. He joins fellow state appointees Tachelle Banks of Cleveland State University and the Rev. Stanley Miller on the commission.
“We’re grateful to these new commission members for their service and expertise, and we look forward to supporting them as they work toward creating a high-quality education system for the children of East Cleveland,” DeMaria said.
Schoop has been president of the College’s Metro Campus in Cleveland since May 2006. The appointment to the East Cleveland commission builds upon his commitment to community involvement.
