Tri-C Students Win Excellence in Journalism Awards
Daniela Cacho, Brendan Madden honored by The Press Club of Cleveland
Two writers from The Voice student newspaper at Cuyahoga Community College recently received 2018 Excellence in Journalism Awards from The Press Club of Cleveland.
Brendan Madden claimed first-place for best print sports story by a student at a two-year school. His winning article focused on the College’s nationally ranked baseball team riding a three-game winning streak.
Daniela Cacho took third place for best print feature story by a student at a two-year school. She was honored for an article detailing how Melt Bar & Grilled owner and founder Matt Fish got his start at Tri-C.
Madden, of Brunswick, is working toward an Associate of Science degree at Tri-C. Cacho, of Broadview Heights, is pursuing an Associate of Arts degree.
