Tri-C Student Among National LGBTQ Scholarship Recipients
Tristan Callahan is one of 134 student leaders honored by the Point Foundation
Tristan Callahan of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) is among 134 LGBTQ student leaders across the nation to be awarded a 2020 scholarship from the Point Foundation.
The scholarships recognize scholars “with a proven track record of leading in their local and academic communities through their activism, advocacy and organizing,” according to the organization.
Callahan is studying physical therapy at Tri-C, where he began taking classes in 2019.
Among this year’s Point Scholars, Callahan was one of only 10 community college scholars selected for a two-year scholarship. The Point Foundation awarded scholarships to students in associate, bachelor and graduate degree programs.
The Point Foundation is the nation's largest scholarship granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students. The organization announced its 2020 scholarship recipients this week.
