Tri-C Men’s Basketball Ranked 6th in Latest NJCAA Poll
Basketball team off to 8-1 start in 2018-2019 campaign
The Cuyahoga Community College men’s basketball team is picking up where it left off last season.
Heading into tonight’s matchup with Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Mich., Tri-C holds an 8-1 record and is riding a five-game winning streak. The fast start has earned then a No. 6 ranking in the first in-season NJCAA Division II national coaches’ poll.
Last year’s team finished the season 32-2 and qualified for the national tournament, where it finished seventh.
The current team is led by sophomores James Anderson Jr. and Josawah Bradford. Anderson is leading Tri-C in points (13.8) and rebounds per game (6.9). Bradford is second on the team in scoring at 13.2 points per game, followed by freshman James Graham at 12.1 points.
Tri-C’s next home game is 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, against Mercyhurst North East. Following an appearance at the Cecil College Tournament in Maryland Dec. 14-15, Tri-C will close out the 2018 portion of its schedule on the road against Lansing Community College.
Tri-C will open 2019 with three straight home games against Lorain County Community College (Jan. 9), Sinclair Community College (Jan. 12) and Lakeland Community College (Jan. 16).
All home games are played at the Tri-C Metropolitan Campus Recreation Center. Admission is free.
