Quintin Dove Scores ‘Player of the Week’ Award

Conference honors sophomore forward for performance in three Tri-C victories

Quintin Dove Scores ‘Player of the Week’ AwardHot barely begins to describe Quintin Dove’s week on the hardcourt for Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®).

The sophomore forward averaged 28.3 points while leading the Challengers to three wins over five days. The performance earned him Division II Player of the Week honors from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference for Feb. 5-11.

Dove shot a blistering 77 percent, making 36 of 47 shots from the floor. He also grabbed 10.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game as the nationally ranked Challengers raised their record to 23-1.

On the season, Dove leads Tri-C in scoring and blocked shots and is second in rebounds. This is his second OCCAC Player of the Week award.

Dove, of Euclid, is working toward an Associate of Arts degree at Tri-C. He received a full athletic scholarship to play next season with the University of Tennessee at Martin, a Division I NCAA school.

Tri-C ranked third in the most recent NJCAA Division II poll. The teams sits atop the conference standings with four games remaining in the season.

The Challengers play their home games at Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus gymnasium, located at the corner of East 30th Street and Community College Avenue in Cleveland. The team's last home game of the season tips off at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21.
