Phoebe Lee Appointed to Tri-C Board of Trustees

Governor John Kasich selects Affinity Apparel CEO for five-year term on board

Phoebe LeeSeventeen years after beginning her higher education journey at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®), Phoebe Lee has been appointed to the College’s Board of Trustees for a term ending Oct. 12, 2023.

She will be sworn in during the Nov. 29 board meeting at the College’s Western Campus in Parma.

Lee serves as chief executive officer of Affinity Apparel, a national leader in the uniform marketplace. The company, based near Dayton, provides daily workwear apparel for more than 400,000 employees representing hundreds of companies.

She previously oversaw operations at VDP Safety & Uniforms, a Cleveland-based supplier of safety apparel and equipment, where she held the position of president for five years.

The Shaker Heights resident has also worked as a model and in fashion sales.

Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University in Georgia, where she graduated magna cum laude while studying business administration and supply chain management. She also studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

She took her first college classes at Tri-C while attending Shaker Heights High School. The dual enrollment program — now known as College Credit Plus — allowed her to build a foundation for future academic success.

Her involvement in the community includes work with the Diversity Compliance Coalition of Ohio and the ACE Mentor Program. She was part of the inaugural Emerging Young Entrepreneurs program launched by the National Minority Supplier Development Council.

Lee was appointed to Tri-C’s Board of Trustees by Ohio Governor John Kasich. She replaces Rachel Von Hendrix.
