Outlining Efforts to Welcome Puerto Rican Families Displaced by Hurricane Maria
Cleveland.com column by Tri-C’s Magda Gomez highlights ‘Bienvenidos a Cleveland’
Welcome to Cleveland.
That’s the message being delivered to hundreds of Puerto Rican families relocating to Northeast Ohio following the devastation of Hurricane Maria.
A coalition of 25 community-based agencies — including Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) — is working to ease the transition for the arrivals as they begin building new lives in their new home.
Tri-C’s Magda Gomez, director of diversity and inclusion at the College, recently wrote a column for cleveland.com detailing the extraordinary efforts now underway through the Bienvenidos a Cleveland project. The column also will appear in the Feb. 1 editions of Sun Newspapers.
