Roster filled with freshman runners looks to continue team’s history of success
Different runners, same results for the women’s cross country team at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®).
A Challengers squad featuring seven freshman runners placed second at the season-opening Buffalo State Daniel Walker Invitational. The meet took place Sept. 1 at Beaver Island State Park in New York.
Hope Brown finished fourth to lead Tri-C’s rookie runners. Two other Challengers — Emily Zimmerman and Hannah Heath — placed in the Top 10.
Eden Amador-Gorby (13th) and Sierra Taylor (14th) completed the scoring for the College.
Tri-C’s cross country team has qualified for nationals the past 17 years while building a reputation as one of the nation’s strongest programs. The team finished 19th in the country last year.
