#MyTriCStory: Charles Hardin

Charles Hardin#MyTriCStory is a series highlighting everyday people in the Tri-C community. Today we meet Charles Hardin, a computer science student and president of the Campus Activities Board at Western Campus.

#MyTriCStory: What is your role here at Western Campus?

Charles Hardin: I am president of the Campus Activities Board as well as a full-time student.

#MTCS: What would you say to students who want to get more involved on campus?

CH: Definitely join clubs and organizations. Student Life has so much to offer. We even have events like Success Week that showcase our clubs and organizations.

#MTCS: What are the benefits of joining a club on campus?

CH: You get more involved on campus, and you meet people you may have never met otherwise. You get to interact in areas of interest you may have. If you’re interested in history, there’s a history club. There’s a drama club, a Japanese culture club. There really is something for everyone.

#MTCS: How is your role on the Campus Activities Board preparing you for your future?

CH: Even though I’m planning on being a software engineer, I think that this role is preparing me in ways that I wouldn’t originally think. This role has me organizing events, team leading, interacting with people, and it helps me with my all-around communication. I want to make video games, and if I want to eventually lead my own team I have to communicate with them. These are all skills that will help me do that.
