Moving Beyond Trauma: Tri-C Conference Offers Strategies for Recovery

April 4 event featuring national speakers will take place at Metropolitan Campus

Moving Beyond logoDomestic abuse, sexual violence and childhood victimization darken the lives of untold numbers of people, leaving deep emotional scars that can create obstacles for future success.

Learning how to overcome these adverse events is the focus of a one-day conference at the Metropolitan Campus of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®).

“Moving Beyond: Strategies For Thriving After Trauma” will take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 4. The event will offer strategies for recovery and success — including on-site counseling for students and other attendees — and provide local resources for further healing.

The conference will also include presentations by Jim Clemente and Francey Hakes, nationally recognized experts in the field.

Cost of the conference is $100; Tri-C students can attend for free. Continuing education credits are available for teachers; law enforcement and legal professionals; and therapists, counselors and other medical specialists.

Visit www.tri-c.edu/movingbeyond to register for the conference, which was developed by a committee representing higher education, health care and community organizations across Northeast Ohio.

Contact Rhonda Fabrizi at rhonda.fabrizi@tri-c.edu or 216-987-4541 for more information. Metro Campus is located at 2900 Community College Ave. in Cleveland, with free parking available on-site.
