‘Exercise is Medicine’ at Tri-C Promotes Fitness and Health
Free community event will be held April 10 at Western Campus in Parma
Learn how fitness and lifestyle can improve your overall health during “Exercise is Medicine on Campus,” a free upcoming program at the Western Campus of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®).
The free event is open to the public and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at the campus, located at 11000 Pleasant Valley Road in Parma.
Exercise is Medicine is part of a national initiative by the American College of Sports Medicine. The goal is to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle to help prevent many chronic diseases.
The event will feature:
- Fitness assessments of bicep curl strength, hand grip strength and vertical jump.
- A variety of health assessments, including blood pressure tests and a body fat analyzer.
- Chair massages by students in the College’s Massage Therapy program.
- Healthy food samples.
The event is sponsored by the College’s Sport and Exercise Studies program, which prepares students for careers as personal trainers, fitness specialists and other health-related professions.
