Chanavier Robinson: Five Events, Five Regional Titles
Performance helps Tri-C win NJCAA Region XII championship for 16th time in 18 years
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) sprinter and jumper Chanavier Robinson made a habit out of climbing to the top of the medal podium at the NJCAA Region XII Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The sophomore from Ravenna won four individual events and one sprint relay to help guide the Challengers to their 16th regional title in the past 18 years. The meet took place May 3-5 at Vincennes University in Indiana.
Robinson won the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints on the track and topped the field in the long jump and triple jump in the field events. She also ran a leg for Tri-C’s winning 4x100-meter relay team.
Other Challengers who won individual titles at the championship included:
- Vanessa Lane of Tallmadge — 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter intermediate hurdles
- Jordan Kati of Willowick — 10,000-meter run
- Taylor Wilson of Willowick — javelin
Sprinters joining Robinson on the winning 4x100 team included Kamry Brown of Lima, DeLisha Miller of Streetsboro and Zakiyah Wesley of Parma. Brown also finished second in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes and third in the 100-meter sprint.
