Award-Winning Polaris Students Choose Tri-C
‘Outstanding Seniors’ Sarah Eifel and Lydia Rabne plan to continue their education at the College

This fall’s freshman class at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) includes a pair of “outstanding” graduates from Polaris Career Center.
Sarah Eifel and Lydia Rabne — who were named Outstanding Seniors for the Polaris Class of 2020 — have both decided to continue their education at Tri-C, according to a news release by the career center.
Eifel intends to pursue a degree in business management from Tri-C before transferring to a four-year school to focus on finance. Her long-term goal is to become a real estate agent and investor.
The Fairview Park resident was a straight-A student in the business program at Polaris. She earned a variety of professional certifications and won numerous regional, state and national awards in Business Professionals of America competitions.
Eifel balanced her studies with community service, volunteering with the American Cancer Society, St. Malachi Church Food Ministry, Providence House, the Dublin Food Pantry and the Kitty Litter Rescue Group.
Rabne plans to earn a nursing degree at Tri-C before transferring to Cleveland State University through the RN-to-BSN program to continue her studies for a career in health care. She is interested in both pediatrics and geriatrics.
The Strongsville resident posted a flawless 4.0 GPA at Polaris, earning recognition as Outstanding Program Student for medical professions in both her junior and senior years. She won a gold medal in medical terminology at this year’s regional SkillsUSA competition.
Rabne also has a busy volunteer and work schedule. She is active at Grace Church, belongs to the Baldwin Wallace University Women’s Chorus and works in the life enrichment department at Kemper House in Strongsville.
She has already earned 37 college credits at Tri-C, where she began taking classes at age 13. Her grades brought an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the largest honor society in higher education.
Both Eifel and Rabne received scholarships from the Polaris Educational Foundation and were recently profiled in a pair of hometown community columns on cleveland.com.
