A Return to the Top
Tri-C men’s basketball team reclaims first-place ranking in NJCAA poll
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) once again sits atop the national men’s basketball rankings.
The Challengers (26-1) returned to first place in the NJCAA Division II poll released Tuesday, Feb. 27. The team spent most of December and January in the top spot before suffering its first loss of the season and falling to third.
Losses by previously higher-ranked teams cleared the way for Tri-C’s return to No. 1.
The Challengers take the court for their final game of the regular season on Saturday at Edison State Community College. A victory clinches the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference title.
The team’s leading scorer, forward Quintin Dove, enters the game as the reigning conference Player of the Week. The OCCAC announced the honor on Monday, Feb. 26. Dove also won the weekly award earlier this month and in December.
