Diversity and Inclusion Climate Assessment

The objective of a diversity and inclusion assessment is to quantify employees’ attitudes, beliefs and experiences related to diversity. Recommendations in key areas will allow the company to:

  • Leverage strengths
  • Highlight issues that may be inhibiting organizational success
  • Identify points for improving employee engagement that will be incorporated in business planning and strategy

Deliverable Options

  • Facilitation of focus groups to gauge perceptions
  • Development of assessment questions and validity/reliability analysis
  • Pilot implementation and analysis of results
  • Data analysis and report-out
  • Outline of program recommendations

A diversity and inclusion climate assessment serves as formal internal benchmark, highlighting opportunities most important and impactful to employees. The assessment results will help to build a roadmap for future diversity and inclusion programming over the ensuing 1-3 years.

Cultural Business Audit

A cultural audit assesses company programs and practices which contribute to  ̶  or potentially hinder  ̶ inclusion, diversity and cultural awareness. Conducting an audit and implementing recommended actions can enable organizations to:

  • Leverage strengths
  • Highlight issues that may be inhibiting organizational success
  • Incorporate employee engagement opportunities into business planning and strategy

Organizational cultural characteristics can be reviewed to understand deeply rooted norms, values in action, drivers of behavior and existing characteristics. The following areas may be included:

  • Business practices (e.g. mission and vision statements, recruitment, onboarding, incentives, purchasing and marketing)
  • Employee turnover
  • Leader and employee input, via interviews or focus groups.

The findings, as well as the recommendations, are shared from the following perspectives, connecting them to overall organizational objectives:

  • Human capital
  • Customer (interactions and how to expand)
  • Procurement (supplier diversity)
  • Marketing/brand (community outreach – sponsorship partnership creation)
