Inclement Weather Commencement Plan
Congratulations! We are excited to celebrate commencement on June 2 at Progressive Field. This outdoor ceremony will be a wonderful event. However, there is a chance the weather may be unfavorable.
Tri-C will make every effort to hold the commencement ceremony as planned. Our concern for the safety of our graduates and guests is most important. Please review the plan in case there is inclement weather.
Light Rain or Other Non-Severe Weather
In case of light rain or other non-severe weather, the ceremony will go on as planned. Graduates and guests should come prepared with appropriate rain gear. Ponchos, raincoats, umbrellas and something to cover wet bleachers or seats are advised for guests and students.
Delay Due to Weather Conditions
If weather is severe enough (heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornado watch/warning) to necessitate a delay in the start of the ceremony, instructions will be given on site.
Interruption Due to Severe Weather
If the ceremony is underway but is interrupted by severe weather, graduates and guests should follow instructions as announced. It is advised that you prearrange a meeting place with your family and guests in case the ceremony is canceled.
Communications
If cancellation or delay is imminent prior to the start of either ceremony, the decision will be communicated by as soon as possible on June 2 via the following communication methods.
- Tri-C email
- Tri-C commencement webpage
- Tri-C social media accounts
- Phone call and/or text message
In the event of cancellation, there will be no reschedule date.
