21st annual Tri-C High School Rock Off gets underway this weekend
January 27, 2017
For 21 years, the Tri-C High School Rock Off has been the premier regional showcase for high school bands, and this year is no exception.
Beginning Saturday, 41 acts comprised of more than 160 young artists from four states will take to the stage at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Over the span of the next four Saturdays, each act will have a chance to strut their stuff. The three best acts each weekend will advance to the “final exam” on Saturday, Feb. 25.
The “final exam” winner will receive a prize package including $1,000 cash, $250 for their high school’s music program and a $1,000 gift card from Guitar Center. The winning act will also receive the opportunity to perform at the Live Nation Vans Warped Tour when it visits Blossom Music Center in July, along with tickets to Bon Jovi’s concert at Quicken Loans Arena in March, and the opportunity to record an original studio track at the Gill and Tommy LiPuma Center for Creative Arts, located at Cuyahoga Community College’s Metropolitan Campus.
Tickets to the Tri-C High School Rock Off are $10 and available on the Rock Hall’s website. Admission to the Rock Off includes admission to the Rock Hall’s exhibits and museum. A portion of the proceeds from the Rock Off will support the Rock Hall’s educational initiatives, which reach more than 50,000 students, adults and educators annually.
