Tri-C culinary arts graduate opens The Sweet Fix bakery in Cleveland Heights
February 03, 2017
Robert Craig has turned his Cuyahoga Community College baking certificate into something sweet.
Craig, his wife Allison and cousin Eric Rogers are the founders and owners of The Sweet Fix bakery, at the corner of Lee and Silsby roads in Cleveland Heights. The bakery opened in October.
A 20-year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry, Craig went back to college when the company he was working for went out of business. It was an opportunity for him to turn a lifelong love of baking into a career.
Craig enrolled in Tri-C’s Culinary Arts program, earning a professional baking certificate. Prior to opening The Sweet Fix, Craig and his wife operated a licensed bakery out of their home. But as their business and reputation grew, the Craigs knew they needed to expand, which meant moving into a storefront location and increasing their selection of products.
The Sweet Fix now offers an extensive selection of baked goods, including cakes, cupcakes, pies and cookies, along with a variety of beverages and a breakfast menu including bagels, coffee and tea.
