Strongsville grad is a CCP success story
September 16, 2016
Bridget Mahoney has had a lifelong passion for theater performance. The trouble is, performances, practices and rehearsals don’t always fit neatly around a school schedule.
That’s why, early in her career at Strongsville High School, Bridget’s parents made the decision to enroll their daughter in Cuyahoga Community College’s College Credit Plus (CCP) program. The CCP program allows high school students to earn high school and college credits concurrently, and on a more flexible schedule than is traditionally offered to high school students.
As a CCP student, Bridget earned a year’s worth of college credits prior to graduating from Strongsville High School this June. She now attends Ohio Northern University in Ada, one of only 15 students who have been accepted into the school’s theater program this academic year.
Bridget’s CCP success story has received attention both inside and outside the Tri-C community, including coverage on Cleveland.com. Tri-C has also produced a pair of short videos highlighting Bridget’s story.
