#Twinning Tri-C Graduates
May 10, 2016
Christine and Christle Pendleton have more in common than just their looks. The identical twins were both very involved in sports from a young age. Known as “the Twins at East Tech” in high school, they were on the track team together and both aspired to run track in college. When it came time to decide on a college, each of the girls went their separate ways.
Christine left for college in Buffalo, New York, but soon realized she wasn’t completely ready. She came back to Cleveland and enrolled at Tri-C, where she joined the track team. She currently holds the college record in the women’s 100-meter dash. Christine will complete her associate degree this summer in Sport and Exercise Studies and will enroll at Cleveland State University in the fall.
She is currently an assistant coach at Cleveland Central Catholic High School, a job which she plans to continue as she moves forward with her education. Her goal is complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Cleveland State University.
Christle chose to go to The University of Akron after high school to run track, but eventually found herself back in Cleveland to be closer to her support base. After learning of Christine’s success at Tri-C and how close she was to graduation, Christle enrolled as well. With the help of a counselor, she made sure she was on track to graduate at the same time as her sister. She will earn an Associate of Applied Business degree this spring and hopes to someday run her own sports complex.
Christle says of her twin, “She’ll probably tell you that every time she does something, I somehow find a way to do what she’s doing!”
In reality, it isn’t so much about competition for these sisters as it is about positive minds working together.
