March 30, 2016
The Journal of Court Reporting recently honored Kelly Moranz, manager of the Captioning and Court Reporting program at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®), with an award for leadership and team building.
The journal’s annual awards highlight innovative and forward-thinking practices of National Court Reporters Association members who are leading the profession. The JCR is the official publication of the organization.
The award received by Moranz recognizes those who have created programs encouraging others to build skills or work together to complete projects.
At Tri-C, Moranz spearheaded a mentoring program for students and professionals and supported students as they created a Captioning and Court Reporting Club at the College and organized events.
She also works with high schools, community groups and programs such as Tri-C’s Women in Transition to share information about careers in court reporting and captioning.
Moranz, of Cleveland, is a Certified Reporting Instructor.
Tri-C’s Captioning and Court Reporting program also received an honorable mention from the Journal of Court Reporting for its use of technology to create a foundation for student academic success.
