Last fall, Antonio Mason suffered a tragic car accident. A man slammed a stolen SUV into the back of the Monte Carlo Mason had just finished paying off. The driver of the SUV was allegedly drunk, and Mason, co-captain of the Tri-C varsity basketball team, was left with two broken vertebrae. He escaped death by the narrowest of margins — millimeters, according to his doctor.

Eighteen days later, Mason became a father.

But through physical therapy, faith and sheer determination, Mason is on the path to recovery.

Via cleveland.com, The Plain Dealer reports the story.
