Farinacci and LiPuma team to record album at Tri-C
January 27, 2015

Solon native and trumpet sensation Dominick Farinacci will team with esteemed producer Tommy LiPuma to record an album Feb. 2-6 in Cuyahoga Community College's Gill and Tommy LiPuma Center for the Creative Arts.
The recording will be the first time nationally recognized artists, engineers and producers make an entire album at Tri-C’s creative arts center.
Farinacci took jazz courses at Tri-C while a student at Solon High School. He has since gone on to international acclaim after a chance encounter with Wynton Marsalis. LiPuma is a five-time Grammy winner who has worked with Miles Davis, Diana Krall, Paul McCartney, Barbara Streisand and more.
The musicians joining Farinacci and LiPuma in the studio are no slouches either: bassist Christian McBride, the 2014 Tri-C JazzFest artist-in-residence; legendary drummer Steve Gadd; guitarist Dean Parks; pianist Larry Goldings; percussionist Jamey Haddad; and vocalist Jacob Collier. Seven-time Grammy winner Al Schmitt will be the engineer.
