September 12, 2014

Former President George W. Bush honored veterans on the anniversary of 9/11 when he spoke yesterday at the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) Foundation's annual Presidential Scholarship Luncheon.More than 1,200 people attended the sold-out luncheon at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel to help raise critically needed funds for those who might otherwise be unable to afford a college education.
The luncheon featured a moment of silence to remember the lives lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks of 2001. President Bush reflected on the events of that day during his remarks.
Since its inception in 1992, the luncheon has raised more than $15 million to help Tri-C students with financial need pursue higher education.
President Bush joins a list of distinguished speakers to headline the Presidential Scholarship Luncheon, including former President Bill Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
