Tri-C to Host Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Observance

Cuyahoga Community College will celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 3 p.m. Jan. 19 in the Metropolitan Campus Auditorium.
The event will feature performances by the Avery Sharpe Sextet and the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra.
In addition, 20 students will receive scholarships.
The event is free and open the public. There is no reserved seating, but tickets are required. Call 216-987-4805 or log onto https://forms.tri-c.edu/MLKReservation/. Tickets ordered after Jan. 15 can be picked up the day of the event in the Auditorium lobby.
This will be the 37th installment of the College's King celebration, which predates the national holiday. President Ronald Regan signed the holiday into law in 1983 and it was first observed three years later.
