The Student Leadership Certificate Program (SLCP) is a noncredit program through Student Life that helps you build skills, discover your strengths, connect with your community, and gain experiences that enhance your resume while helping you stand out.

The SLCP is designed to support your growth year after year. New and returning participants can continue building skills, exploring new opportunities and expanding their impact across the College and community.

How It Works
Complete seven meaningful activities over the academic year to earn your Student Leadership Certificate:
- Completion Plan and Mentorship Meeting: Meet with a Student Life Advisor (SLA) to set goals, build a milestone timeline and launch your SLCP journey.
- Knowing Self and Others: Explore identity, communication and collaboration—tools to better lead and connect with others.
- Values and Representation: Learn how your personal values connect to civic systems at the local, state and federal levels.
- Student Leadership Retreat or Five Student Leadership Virtual Workshops: Attend our in-person retreat or choose events from our virtual workshop series that matches your interests and schedule.
- 25 Hours of Community Service: Serve your community while building leadership, teamwork and purpose.
- Resume Update with Career Marketplace: Work one-on-one with Career Marketplace to highlight your SLCP experience and leadership skills.
- Capstone Presentation: My SLCP Story: Reflect on your journey and present how you've grown as a leader.
Important Dates:
- Students must register by Friday, Feb. 12, 2027
- All activities and community service hours must be completed Aug. 24, 2026 – April 1, 2027
