LGBTQIA+

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual/Aromantic+ (LGBTQIA+) population has increased risk factors for suicidal thinking and behavior, not because of identity, but because of external pressures including: social stigma; conflict with others regarding sexuality and/or gender identity and expression; increased bullying, abuse, and violence; and being estranged from family and/or place of worship, to name a few (The Trevor Project, 2025).

A variety of LGBTQIA+ specific help is available below, as well as ways for the LGBTQIA+ community to get involved. The LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland ("The Center"), PFLAG, and TransFamily are a few of the many local organizations that support LGBTQIA+ folks and allies with educational, social, and personal growth opportunities.
